Future systems for human-machine interaction will be improved both in the design and in the working phases by improved models of human affective state and behaviour.

These models will be based on a new view of human cognition that will follow an holistic view, merging information gained from both central and peripheral nervous systems, and characterizing the interplay between the somatic and the autonomic nervous system.

The research we develop exploit current available sensors to monitor central and peripheral nervous system functions, and noticeably newly developed computational models with predictive capability in order to explain how humans interact with each other and the environment.
